Hansie Cronje – South African cricket’s fallen hero

Hansie Cronje, a revered South African cricket captain, led his team to remarkable victories in the 1990s but faced a lifetime ban in 2000 due to a match-fixing scandal. Tragically, he died in a plane crash in 2002 at age 32. Born in 1969, Cronje guided the Proteas to triumph in 27 Tests during his tenure. Additionally, he led the team to victory in 99 ODIs.
